Walk & Talk Therapy in Northern Colorado
Take therapy outside
It’s no surprise we often feel more grounded, at ease and in connection when immersed in nature. Our cortisol levels can decrease and our feel-good hormones rise. We can remember our place in the infinite system of living beings. We can feel a sense of awe and remember possibility.
For some, accessing deeper emotions and talking about feelings is made easier through movement, bilateral stimulation, and simply not looking directly at someone.
Some of the areas that outdoor and nature therapy can be particularly helpful:
Managing stress, worry, anxiety and depression
Connecting to our intuition and natural gifts
Navigating grief, loss and loneliness
Somatic processing of trauma and reconnecting with inner and outer resources
Practicing mindfulness in the everyday
I offer outdoor walk and talk sessions in Northern Colorado and occasionally host mindfulness courses outside. If you’d like to get further away, I can also meet on trail.
Nature-Based Walk & Talk Therapy
Therapy Outside
Nature based walk and talk therapy can take several forms.
Walking a local path in town (great for standard 50min sessions)
Hiking on a local trail (typically longer than standard session)
Sitting still in a singular place, for instance a park, on a lookout bench
Re-visiting a natural place of significance
