FAQs

  • Yes! I get this question a lot. I understand some people hesitant to identify as an athlete, even if they are physically active or engage with activities like skiing, biking, running, etc. I also understand some people are not currently in a position to be active. My primary focus is that we meet and both feel my skills align with the goals you have for therapy.

  • I am currently licensed to work with people in Colorado, Idaho and Washington. Most people meet me online through a secure video platform. I do have office space in Fort Collins Colorado and availability to meet on trail if you live in (or travel to) the area.

  • I like to start with a casual, confidential conversation to learn more about what you’re seeking from therapy. The phone or video call is offered at no charge to you. From there, if we decide to work together, we will schedule time to start. There is no financial commitment until we’ve had our first session. You can schedule this through the CONTACT page.

  • I like to start by meeting weekly if possible. This allows us to build some momentum and set a positive trajectory toward the change you seek. Together, we will discuss goals and decide on the best plan to meet those goals. After about 4-6 weeks, we may move to meeting every-other week. Over time, it’s very common for people to reach their goals and move to monthly sessions, or meet as-needed.

  • My standard session is 50 minutes. For those using OON benefits with insurance, it’s 53 minutes in length.
I’m open to exploring 90min sessions or longer if you’d like. Some folks prefer to have more time to dig in. This can also be an option if you’re only in one of the states I’m approved to work in for a limited time.

  • Although it’s not guaranteed of course, my sincere hope is that you begin to see results, get some relief, and/or helpful perspective within the first 2-3 sessions.

  • I feel quite steady in supporting a wide range of concerns and experiences. I will add that I’m happy to provide referrals if I feel I cannot adequately support what you’re looking for. I encourage you to reach out and we can discuss your situation and determine if we’re a good fit to work together.

  • If you have health insurance that covers out-of-network providers, I can give you a receipt called a Superbill that you can share with your insurance carrier who may reimburse you directly for our sessions.

There a few things to consider: Insurance companies require me to provide a formal diagnosis.
It's a good idea to contact your insurance carrier and inquire about specifics related to out-of-network benefits. Some questions to ask..

    - Does my insurance plan cover out-of-network providers for mental health treatment?

-Will I receive reimbursement for working with Ash Langholz?

-Do I have an out-of-network deductible for mental health treatment, and if so, how much of my deductible has been met?

    - How much reimbursement will I receive per session?

-How long will it take to receive my reimbursement?

    -Are telehealth sessions covered?

-Does my plan limit the number of therapy sessions available?

These questions do not guarantee benefits/coverage, but I think it's a good way to clarify as much as you can ahead of time.

  • "I can't recommend Ash enough for any athlete who is going through the challenges associated with not being able to participate in their sport. She has helped me through one of the hardest times of my life, and has been one of the most effective resources in my recovery. I can't thank her enough."

  • "Ash is a master at meeting me right where I need to be met. She creates a safe space, truly hears what I am saying, challenges me in very productive ways, and guides me along my journey. It is as if she is a co-creator of my narrative such that I can evolve along my unique journey -- even when I stumble. I could not be more grateful to her for providing such wise counsel."
