Hello, friend. I am the owner of Bedrock Therapy. Although I think I’ve always been on the path, I took the scenic route to becoming a psychotherapist. I grew up on a farm in rural Iowa, surrounded by animals and corn fields, in a time before cell phones. My curiosity about the human experience and my apprenticeship with sorrow* began in childhood, and it planted the seeds of service and a desire to accompany others finding their way thru, learning over and over again how to stretch and expand enough to move toward joy and presence, even when it hurts.

In my 20s, I found my way to the mountains of the west and into a career in outdoor media and storytelling. Even before I became a therapist, I sat with people, and listened deeply, paying close attention to both what was said and how it was said. This now helps shape my therapeutic work. I believe in the power of story to transform us— in understanding our stories, in recognizing other versions that may also be true, and in the process of sharing our stories to connect us with each other and our shared humanity.

I’ve been on my own journey, away from out-running, over-thinking & under-feeling and back to the wisdom of my whole body and soul. I seek to bring realness, warmth, and curiosity into all I do. I find great meaning in helping others tap into a wider landscape of self. It’s a great honor to be a part of others’ journey and I look forward to being a part of yours.
